Being a member  fills a spot in my life

As a teacher, I love to help students become better citizens and leaders for their futures.  I am one of the adult leaders of Iowa Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Seminar, and through that organization, I am able to help students learn about leadership.  When the opportunity to be the faculty advisor for Key Club was presented to me, I jumped at the chance.  I love being a part of an organization like Key Club.  I love the mission statement, the core values, and the objectives of Key Club.  It is awesome getting to see my students work on service projects for the community, and to see them truly enjoying the opportunity to help those in need.  It is also amazing to see students grow in their leadership skills over the years they are in the club.

President Of Grimes Countyline Kiwanis

I serve as the President of Countyline Kiwanis in Grimes. I work closely with our Board in determining what projects to take on and implementation of fund-raisers throughout the year. I attempt to act in a leadership role in recruitment of potential members.I joined Kiwanis several years ago in an attempt to give back to the community in which I work. Our organization is committed to providing opportunities for youth, and that has been a passion of mine my whole life. Being a member of a service organization fills a spot in my life, that puts me in a position to network with other working adults in the community and to provide a service to families in the Grimes area. As a principal of our local high school, I am able to see first-hand the value of service, which is why I take such pride in the strength of our Key Club at DCG.
